The Uses of SYRINGE SGE 2.5ML LUER LOCK
SGE gastight Luer lock syringe was used to collect gas samples from the slightly pressurized headspace, while measuring anaerobic ammonium oxidation. It was also used to collect gas samples of the headspace gas, during an experimental procedure related to increase in the occurrence of the anammox reaction in estuarine sediments. It may also be used for introduction of samples to the gas sampling and injection system (GASIS) inlet, in a study involving versatile inlet system for on-line compound-specific δD and δ13C gas chromatography-oxidation/reduction-isotope ratio mass spectrometry analysis of gaseous mixtures.
The Uses of SYRINGE SGE 2.5ML LUER LOCK
SGE Gas Tight Syringes, Luer Lock was used:
- for collection of estuary water sediment, in an experimental study done to assay the anammox reaction occurring in estuary sediments.
- to sub-sample, 15N-N2 and N2O sample gas in head-space, during measurement of annamox and denitrification in intact sediment cores.
- with combination of PCC, which is basically a cell homogenizer, during the isolation of mitochondria, in an experimental investigation done to study the progression of human diseases.
- for the introduction of the sample in to the GASIS (gas sampling and injection system) inlet, during the compound-specific δD and δ13C gaseous mixture analysis by mass spectrometry.
General Description
SGE Gas Tight syringes are constructed of borosilicate glass, PTFE plunger tips, and KEL-F Luer cones depending upon the experimentation process. SGE syringes have been a consistent choice for LC and GC equipment. An interference fit between the plunger tip and the barrel enhances the gas sealing properties of the SGE syringe. Plungers are interchangeable. SGE gas tight syringes can be autoclaved, but the plunger should be removed. SGE gastight Luer lock syringe can be effectively used for the introduction of samples to the gas sampling and injection system (GASIS) inlet.
