What is SongoraMine?
Description
This atisine alkaloid has recently been obtained from Aconitum karakolicum. It yields colourless prisms from Me2CO and forms a crystalline hydrochloride, m.p. 290°C (dec.) and on hydrogenation over Pt yields the tetrahydro derivative, m.p. 193-5°C. Treatment with silver oxide furnishes N-deethylsongorine. The struc_x0002_ture has been established from the ultraviolet, infrared, NMR and mass spectra.
