Remazol Brilliant Violet 5R is a stain also known as Reactive Violet 5 which has been used in the textile and fabrics industries.

Preparation

2-(4-Aminophenylsulfonyl)ethyl hydrogen sulfate diazo, and 4-Aminonaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid coupling, and copper sulfate, sodium acetate and hydrogen peroxide oxidation, complex, then salting-out.

Properties and Applications

purple. Purple, brown powder, soluble in water. Used for cotton, silk and linen dyeing and printing, also suitable for discharge printing.
