What is Radium Thiosulfate?
Description
Radium sulfate would have the molecular formula of
RaS2O3 and the molecular weight of 338.1556 g/mol. It
could be prepared by the reaction:
RaCl2+Na2S2O3 ? RaS2O3+2NaCl
It is expected to be insoluble in water so that the solution
does not need to be evaporated at a low temperature
to crystallize the product. The question of hydrate
formation remains unknown as there is no record of
this salt ever having been prepared. It has no CAS
number. It is expected to be insoluble in ethanol. It is
expected to be a white, crystalline, water-insoluble,
poisonous, radioactive material.
