The Uses of Petroleum resins
Petroleum resins are mainly used in the coatings industry, where they are used as reinforcing agents for synthetic latex coatings and are used in the manufacture of oil-based varnishes to improve gloss and adhesion. It is also used as a coating for hot-melt adhesive paper for the production of water-resistant corrugated board. Petroleum resins are used with chlorinated paraffins and surfactants to form architectural coatings, and are additionally widely used in printing inks and adhesives.
