What is OXYAVICINE?
Description
A minor constituent of Zanthoxylum avicennae (Lam.) DC., the alkaloid exists in two forms. When crystallized from EtOH it yields colourless prisms with the lower melting point which, on solidification, are converted into the higher melt_x0002_ing form as long needles. The ultraviolet spectrum has absorption maxima at 248, 278,289,322 and 332 mJ.1.
