What is NIGHT BLUE?
Definition
ChEBI: An iminium salt composed of 4-{(4-anilinonaphthalen-1-yl)[4-(diethylamino)phenyl]methylidene}-N,N-diethylcyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-iminium and chloride ions in a 1:1 ratio.
Preparation
4-(Dichloro(4-(diethylamino)phenyl)methyl)-N,N-diethylbenzenamine and ?N-p-tolylnaphthalen-1-amine?condensation.
Properties and Applications
blue. Soluble in water for blue purple, easily soluble in ethanol for purple. The strong sulfuric acid for yellow brown, rare to green, then turned blue.?Sodium hydroxide aqueous dye solution with a light red-brown precipitate.
