What is MPEG5-NHS?
Description
m-PEG6-NHS ester is a PEG linker containing an NHS ester. The NHS ester can be used to label the primary amines (-NH2) of proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides, and other amine-containing molecules. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
Biological Activity
MPEG5-NHS is a non-cleavable 6-unit PEG-containing ADC linker for the synthesis of antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). It is a PROTAC linker belonging to the PEG/Alkyl/ether class, which can be used to synthesize PROTAC molecules.

ADCs are comprised of an antibody to which is attached an ADC cytotoxin through an ADC linker.
PROTACs contain two different ligands connected by a linker; one is a ligand for an E3 ubiquitin ligase and the other is for the target protein. PROTACs exploit the intracellular ubiquitin-proteasome system to selectively degrade target proteins.
