What is KURCHICINE?

Description

Also present in the bark of Holarrhena antidysenterica Wall. this alkaloid has [α]32D - 11.4° (CHCl 3) or - 8.45° (EtOH). It yields a dihydrochloride, m.p. > 260°C;[α]32D - 27.17° (H20); a dihydrobromide, m.p. 260°C; [α]29Dj1,° - 22.63° (H20); a dihydriodide, m.p. 2S9-260°C; sulphate as the dihydrate, m.p. > 270°C; aurichloride, charring oxalate, above 195°C; platinichloride, m.p. 210°C (dec.) and an m.p. > 270°C.
