What is Jamine?

Description

The seeds of Ormosia jamaicensis and O. panamensis yield this alkaloid which is optically inactive although the (+)-form with [α]₅₈₉ + 8.0° and the correspond_x0002_ing (-)-form with [α]₅₈₉ - 3.8° have been prepared. The crystal structure has been determined by X-ray analysis.
