What is ISOROSMARICINE?
Description
Rosmarinus officinalis L. yields this alkaloid which crystallizes from toluene as colourless rods. The base is optically active having a specific rotation of [α]D + 36° (c 1.48, dioxan). It forms crystalline salts and derivatives including the hydrochloride, m.p. 2l4-6°C; sulphate, m.p. l88-l90°C and the N,O,O,- triacetyl derivative, m.p. 29l-2°C.
