Hexanal Diethyl Acetal has been suggested for use in perfumes and flavors as a modification of the aldehyde, when the latter seems too pungent for the intended purpose.
Preparation
From Hexyl aldehyde and Ethanol by condensation in presence of a dehydrating agent.
