Synthesis
Guaiacol and epichlorohydrin are reacted in the presence of an inorganic alkali aqueous solution and a phase transfer catalyst; thereafter, the crude guaiacol glycidyl ether is obtained by distilling under reduced pressure; the crude guaiacol glycidyl ether is recrystallizated by lower alcohol to obtain guaiacol glycidyl ether with a purity over 99.5%.
