What is Globosuxanthone A?

Description

Globosuxanthone A is a fungal metabolite originally isolated from C. globosum. It is cytotoxic to various human solid tumor cell lines, including MCF-7, PC3, LNCap, and DU145 cells (IC₅₀s = 1.3, 0.65, 1.5, and 1.2 μM, respectively). It induces accumulation of cells in the G₂/M and S phases of the cell cycle in NCI-H460 and PC3M cells. Globosuxanthone A is also active against C. albicans but not S. aureus, E. coli, or M. hiemalis.
