The Uses of FORMALDEHYDE DIPROPYL ACETAL
Formaldehyde diisopropyl acetal has been suggested for use in perfumes and flavors, but its very low boiling point causes considerable problems for its use in perfumes, except perhaps in a few cases where an ethereal topnote resembling that of "aged"alcohol is desirable.
Preparation
Formaldehyde diisopropyl acetal is produced from Chloromethyl methylether plus Sodium propoxide.
