The Uses of EIPA
Selective Na+/H+ antiporter inhibitor. Selectively enhances the excretion of sodium ions without causing an increase in excretion of potassium ions.
The Uses of EIPA
5-(N-Ethyl-N-isopropyl)amiloride has been used:
- as a supplement in endothelial cell growth medium to incubate human lung microvascular endothelial cell
- in Pluronic F-127 stock solution for Drosophila larval live-imaging
- in choline chloride solution as an experimental perfusate, to study the effect of Na+/H+ inhibition on jejunal loop perfusion in vivo
What are the applications of Application
5-(N-Ethyl-N-isopropyl)-Amiloride is a selective Na+/H+ antiporter inhibitor
Definition
ChEBI: Ethylisopropylamiloride is a member of the class of pyrazines that is amiloride in which the amino substitutent of the pyrazine ring that is adjacent to the chloro substituent has been substituted by an ethyl group and by an isopropyl group. It has a role as an anti-arrhythmia drug, a neuroprotective agent and a sodium channel blocker. It is a member of guanidines, an aromatic amine, an organochlorine compound, a tertiary amino compound, a member of pyrazines and a monocarboxylic acid amide. It is functionally related to an amiloride.
Biochem/physiol Actions
