Chemical properties

Dimethyl nylon acid is a colorless, clear, and transparent high-boiling point liquid with a faint ester aroma. It is easily soluble in alcohols and ethers but insoluble in water. It is a very important fine chemical product and chemical raw material, featuring non-toxicity, low odor, strong solubility, low water content, and biodegradability. The Uses of Dimethyl nylon acid

Dimethyl nylon acid is a mixed dimethyl ester of dicarboxylic acid, composed of three components: dimethyl esters of adipic acid, glutaric acid, and succinic acid. Dimethyl nylon acid product line includes pure dimethyl esters of adipic acid, glutaric acid, and succinic acid, as well as mixtures of different proportions. It is used as a high boiling point solvent for paints and coatings, and can replace highly toxic solvents such as isophorone, ethylene glycol ethers, and cyclohexanone in baking-type synthetic resin coatings, etc.

Preparation

Dimethyl nylon acid is synthesized through esterification reaction using nylon acid and methanol as raw materials and p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst.
