Definition
ChEBI: An organic chloride salt having 3-amino-7-(dimethylamino)phenothiazin-5-ium as the counterion. It is used in making azure eosin stains for blood smear staining.
Purification Methods
Azure A has been twice recrystallised from H2O and dried at 100o/1hour in an oven. [Beilstein 27 III/IV 5151.]
