The Uses of 2-CHLOROETHYL ISOTHIOCYANATE
2-Chloroethyl isothiocyanate is used as a reagent to synthesize Zanamivir (Z148000), a compound that acts as a selective inhibitor of Influenza A and B virus neuraminidases. 2-Chloroethyl isothiocyanate is also used as a reagent to synthesize heterocyclic compounds (e.g. Fluorescein 6-Isothiocyanate [F485705]).
