The Uses of 10'-desmethoxystreptonigrin
10'-Desmethoxystreptonigrin is a close analogue of streptonigrin, produced by selected Streptomyces species. It is a moderately potent inhibitor of farnesylation of RAS P21 protein, 3-fold more active than streptonigrin. 10'-Desmethoxystreptonigrin has also been reported to have potent and broad spectrum antibacterial and antitumour activity.
