It is a synthetic strigolactone and a (3E)-3-{[(4-methyl-5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-2-yl)oxy]methylidene}-3,3a,4,8b-tetrahydro-2H-indeno[1,2-b]furan-2-one. It is an enantiomer of a (-)-GR24.
