Fenoxasulfone is a dichlorobenzene that is benzene in which the hydrogens at positions 1, 2, 4 and 5 are replaced by [(5,5-dimethyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2-oxazol-3-yl)sulfonyl]methyl, chloro, ethoxy and chloro groups, respectively. It is a rice herbicide developed by Kumiai Chemical Industry Co. Ltd which displays excellent herbicidal activity against Echinochloa spp. and other annual weeds. It has a role as a herbicide and a fatty acid synthesis inhibitor. It is an aromatic ether, a member of isoxazoles, a sulfone and a dichlorobenzene.
