Description
p-Anisaldehyde is a compound of the benzaldehyde class that can be used as a triple sensitiser to catalyse the photochemical intermolecular atom transfer radical addition reaction (ATRA) of haloalkanes and olefins. It is used in the synthesis of 2-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-N-(4-(N-(1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)sulfamoyl)phenyl)hydrazinecarbothioamide. It is also used as a colouring agent for the detection of non-UV-active substances using thin layer chromatography (TLC).
