Amprolium hydrochloride is a white or off-white powder, odorless or almost odorless. Soluble in water, methanol or ethanol, slightly soluble in ether, insoluble in chloroform.
Amprolium hydrochloride is used in chickens, rabbits, calves and lambs, and is effective against Eimeria tenderis and Eimeria mumps in chickens and coccidia in lambs and calves. It is suitable for use with other drugs to make water-soluble powder or premix. It is the main anticoccidial drug for laying hens.
