Sodium citrate, also known as sodium citrate, is white crystalline granules or powder at room temperature, odorless, has a cool and salty taste, and is stable in the air. The relative density was 1.857 (23.5°C). It loses crystal water at 15Chemicalbook0℃, and it decomposes when heated continuously. Soluble in water, the pH of the aqueous solution is about 8, and it is insoluble in ethanol. It is obtained by neutralizing, concentrating and crystallizing citric acid with sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate.

Used as flavoring agent and stabilizer in food and beverage industry; used as anticoagulant, expectorant and diuretic in pharmaceutical industry; in detergent industry, it can be used as a non-toxic detergent instead of Chemicalbook Auxiliary agent; also used in brewing, injection, photographic drugs and electroplating. It is one of the basic drugs for biological experiments.
