Dextromethorphan is a central antitussive, which mainly inhibits the cough center of the oblong brain. This product is the dextroisomer of morphine levoromorphine, which exerts a central antitussive effect by inhibiting the cough center of the medulla oblongata. Its antitussive strength is equal to or slightly stronger than codeine. No analgesic effect, no tolerance and addiction in long-term application.
