COAL TAR

Tar is a solid phase formed when the cigarettes are burnt and the internal components are cracked and cooled. Smoking cigarettes at a standard smoking speed of one puff per minute and two puffs per puff, filtering the particulate matter contained in the smoke with a fiber filter, and then subtracting the weight of the water particulate matter and nicotine to obtain each cigarette tar content.

The composition and properties of medium and low temperature coal tar are quite different from those of high temperature coal tar. Medium and low temperature coal tar contains more oxygenated compounds and chain hydrocarbons, among which the content of phenol and its derivatives is 10% to 30%, and the alkane Hydrocarbon is about 20%, and the content of heavy oil (tar pitch) is relatively small, which is more suitable for the production of motor fuel oil and chemicals for motor vehicles using hydrogenation technology. The composition and properties of the coal tar produced are quite different due to different types of raw coal and different pyrolysis processes. The table shows the properties and composition data of a typical medium and low temperature coal tar, in which the density value is measured at 20°C.
