Trioctylamine is a colorless liquid; Boiling point 365 ℃; Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, etc. Trioctylamine is catalyzed by the reaction of n-octyl alcohol and ammonia at 400℃ high temperature: □ Trioctylamine and other C8 ~ C10 tertiary (tertiary) amine in the metallurgical industry are used in the extraction separation of a variety of metals (see solvent extraction), such as the separation of cobalt, nickel, actinides and lanthanides.
