Propylene carbonate (often abbreviated PC) is an organic compound with the formula CH3C2H3O2CO. It is a carbonate ester derived from propylene glycol. This colorless and odorless liquid is useful as a polar, aprotic solvent. Propylene carbonate is chiral but is used exclusively as the racemic mixture.
Application
This product can be used as a highly effective solvent for the removal of carbon dioxide from LPG, petroleum pyrolysis gas, oilfield gas and synthetic ammonia raw material gas; In the textile industry, can be used as synthetic fiber auxilary and fixing agent; In the battery industry, it can be used as an excellent medium for lithium battery. In the polymer industry, it can be used as a solvent for polymers.
