 Chromium nitrate is a purple monoclinic deliquescence crystal, soluble in water, soluble in acids, bases, ethanol and acetone.Decompose when heated to 100°C.Its aqueous solution appears green when heated, and turns reddish purple quickly after cooling.

Physical and chemical properties: chrome nitrate · jiushui is purplish red with delirious crystallization, which decomposing when heated to 125.5℃, melting point 60℃.Soluble in water, ethanol, acetone and inorganic acids.Its aqueous solution appears green when heated, but quickly turns reddish purple when cooled.Corrosive and can cause burns.Contact with flammable materials can cause combustion. 

Purpose: chrome-containing catalysts are commonly used in the preparation of chrome-containing catalysts, used in the printing and dyeing industry as coal dyeing agents, used in glass and ceramic glazing and corrosion inhibitors.
