GS-441524 is a nucleoside analogue that terminates the RNA chain of viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase.

GS-441524 is an intermediate of Remdesivir. Used to treat feline infectious peritonitis. GS-441524 is the second targeted antiviral drug for FIP after GC376. Experiments showed that GS-441524 was more potent than GC376 for naturally occurring FIP. The Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery published an article on the safety of GS-441524, also by a research team led by Professor Pedersen at the University of California, Davis. This article evaluates the safety and efficacy of the nucleoside analogue GS-441524 in the treatment of natural FIP cats. The results show that GS-441524 is a safe and effective FIP treatment method.

How GS441 Cures FIP

If a cat's immune system is healthy and mature, the white blood cells should fight off an infection or virus, and allow the cat to build up an immune response, or antibodies.  Cats who develop FIP have an immune defect or deficiency that causes the white blood cells to replicate, rather than fight, the virus.
