Folic acid is one of the most important B group water-soluble vitamins. It was isolated from spinach in 1941 and is so abundant in its green leaves that it is also known as methotrel glutamate.It occurs in several forms in nature and its parent compound is a combination of teridine, p-aminobenzoic acid and glutamic acid.Folic acid contains one or more glutamyl groups and most naturally occurring folic acid is in the polyglutamic form.The bioactive form of folic acid is tetrahydrofolate.

Use Folic acid is an anti-anemia drug.When livestock and poultry lack folic acid, appetite decreases, growth is blocked, feather growth is bad.The dosage of 0.5 1.0 mg/kg.

Used as food fortifier.It can be used for infant food, the dosage is 380-700 μg/mg;2 ~ 4mg/kg was used in the special food for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Use as biochemical reagent;As food fortifier;

It is used to prepare nylon in polyamide industry and as raw material of saturated polyurethane.

Usage: Folic acid is used in feed, and food, but mainly in feed.
