Production Description

1,3-Butanediol is a transparent colorless hygroscopic viscous liquid with a weak special taste. Almost odorless. Boiling point 207.5°C, relative density (4:1.0059, refractive index Chemicalbook (nD20) 1.4401, freezing point <-50°C, flash point 121.1°C. It has a certain antibacterial effect. It is miscible in water, acetone, and soluble in ether.

1,3-Butanediol is used as a softener and also in organic synthesis.

1,3-Butanediol makes polyurethane. Surfactants, plasticizers, coupling agents, solvents, food additives and fragrances.
